Daniel Farke has paid tribute to Norwich City captain Kenny McLean after his appearances milestone at the weekend.
McLean, 34, joined the 300 club in City’s 3-0 FA Cup fifth round defeat at Elland Road, where he was reunited with the man who first brought him to Carrow Road back in January, 2018.
Farke also revealed that McLean had featured heavily in his build-up and preparation for the game.
“A great achievement and congratulations and well done to Kenny,” said the Leeds boss. “Fantastic player, he was unbelievably important for us when we brought him in.
“It feels like he’s like a good wine – he’s getting better and better the older he gets.
“It’s an unbelievable achievement on this level to be there with so many performances.
“He’s still a key player and also, in my preparation for this game, I spoke more about Kenny McLean than about anyone else, because he runs the game, a fantastic player, a fantastic human being and it’s always great to see him.
“He leads the team because he has also got this competitive edge. It’s always a great pleasure to see Kenny, because on and off the pitch he’s fantastic.”
